Essex Kitchen and Whole Home Renovation

Essex Kitchen and Whole Home Renovation

a Space for Guests that you can be proud of

The Problem:

Our clients were dealing with a chilly three-season space abutting their kitchen. They wanted to increase the functionality and extend their kitchen for hosting large gatherings. They also had a 1,200-square-foot guest wing of their home that wasn’t functioning well for family and guests staying with them.

The Solution:

Working closely with our clients, we identified their pain points and developed a scope of work that aligned with their vision and budget for the project. The guest wing renovation focused heavily on relocating all the walls on the interior of the space to allow optimal flow and functionality for their guests.

We optimized space for three luxurious bathrooms, two large bedrooms, and a dedicated laundry space, including custom cabinetry with adequate storage and working area. This was achieved with multiple structural changes and total re-plumbing and rewiring of the home.

In the kitchen extension, we raised the ceiling, insulated the concrete slab, and centered the space around a custom island with large granite countertop overhangs on three sides to make entertaining a breeze. To take full advantage of the water views and optimize natural light, we replaced a small french door and small windows with a large three-panel Marvin slider.

Adjacent to the kitchen, the mudroom area featured a custom bench and fully functional walk-in pantry.

Modern Bath Renovation in Killingworth

Killingworth Primary En-Suite Bathroom

The Problem:

Our clients recently bought their house and the first order of business was their dated primary en-suite bathroom. It offered an awkward and inefficient bathroom space with tile chipping from its walls and tub surround.

The Solution:

To give this bedroom a true primary en-suite bath, we removed the existing shower walls to create a large walk-in shower with a curbless entry featuring an oversized niche and bench. We then created a space for a large kiddie-cornered freestanding tub with views from the second story to the wooded backyard.

The adjacent wall features an 84” semi-custom vanity with dual sinks and mirrors to give the clients their own space to get ready. The private wash closet features a custom toiletry and towel storage cabinet and a Toto washlet bidet seat.

The result is a luxurious space of beauty!

A historic Essex home gets a facelift

Our clients wanted a spa-like space to unwind from their busy day-to-day life. We were tasked with enlarging the shower, rebuilding the vanity, and adding lots of storage. The color palette creates a space with just enough contrast to create interest and mesh with the historic fabric of the neighborhood. No more cold feet getting out of the shower with the electric radiant heat flooring!

The original owner’s bathroom layout had two sinks, just not in the same room. By removing an awkward wall and sink basin we were able to capture much needed space to expand the footprint of the bathroom. That allowed us to install a beautiful furniture style vanity, big shower and sneaky storage to keep everything in it’s place.

The homeowners wanted to remove the built-in jacuzzi tub, separate the two sinks, and add storage galore. By taking away the tub we were able to build a beautiful, large shower with multiple shower heads that turned this owner’s bath into a spa. The monochromatic palette creates a soothing, tranquil mood that’s perfect for a retreat.

Outdoor living space is a high priority in Essex. Even more so, when you live by the water. We were contacted by homeowner’s who wanted to replace their existing deck. They needed something that was very low maintenance and that’s why we choose composite decking.

The Process

We updated the main floor tile in the bathroom to a more contemporary large hexagon tile. We opted to eliminate the single bowl vanity for a new double vanity. This allowed for multiple guests to share the space. Another key upgrade for this makeover was to swap out the bathtub shower combo plastic walls kit to a tile surround. This gave the bathroom a more grownup and sophisticated feel.

No Layout Changed Were Necessary

For this makeover, we accomplished everything keeping the same walls and using the existing location for all the items. This helped to keep the costs more economical.

Master Bathroom Remodel

Farmhouse Style Bathroom Transformation

The homeowners were looking to upgrade their Master Bathroom to create a true Owner’s Suite. We had completed the kitchen the previous year and now they wanted to bring more of the rustic farmhouse charm that matched their style, into their bathroom. They needed to be a place to relax – a space where they could unwind, rinse away the stresses of the day and that’s just what we gave them.

The Process

Our inspiration for this bathroom remodel – the rustic farmhouse charm of the vanity furniture piece from Restoration Hardware that the homeowners hand selected. They knew that they wanted to redo their existing bathtub & shower into a larger walk-in shower. Our design team collaborated with them on a design to remodel that bath to a larger shower, we added a small curb for water drainage and integrated the use of dual shower heads. The rain shower from the ceiling really sets the stage for a spa-like retreat. We used frame-less shower glass for the shower surround.
