We engaged CRAFT Design + Build to redesign the living room of our 1840 home. The windows were original to the home and the walls were covered with a wallpaper from the 1980’s. We discussed our ideas of creating a “club-like” feel to the room with the use of millwork. We shared photos of a room similar to what we wanted with Derek. He listened intently and immediately conveyed a respect for our home and great interest in the project. Right up front he explained that the project wouldn’t be able to begin for several months given other projects in queue. After taking some measurements he left to sketch out some ideas. Within a short timeline, we were presented with professional sketches and an estimate for a budget. We loved his design ideas and gave the go ahead to proceed with formal design. All of the billing structure was clearly explained in writing. Once the project began, Derek and his co-worker arrived on time, worked in a very professional and focused manner, displayed excitement about the project and pride in their work. The work site was left clean every night. They communicated daily as needed if their schedule needed to be adjusted (shop work vs. on site work) so we always knew when to expect them. The end result was beyond our expectations! We now have a gorgeous, newly named “Club Room,” with exquisite millwork crown molding, base molding, chair rails, raised panels, (and more details I don’t have the right terms for). Derek arranged for a professional photographer to capture the beautiful details of the craftsmanship delivered. Now, we just have to save up for the next project with CRAFT Design + Build! Working with Craft Design and Build was easy and fun. They were very transparent about their process and always took our input to heart. They finished the process ahead of their projected timeline. Every interaction with them was professional and friendly. Their communication was excellent and even referred us to a lovely person (shoutout Eileen!) to make amazing cushions for our new custom daybed. And perhaps most importantly, the final product was exactly what we had envisioned, and has made our space so much more functional and enjoyable!!

We hired Craft Design + Build to create, build and install custom storm windows for our c1837 home. As with most antique homes, each window was a different size and some weren’t even “square” which required them to use extreme precision in measuring. We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome!
